This game was developed in FreeBASIC, specially for the FBGD Rescue The Colors Competition 2011-2012.

FreeBASIC is an excellent, fast, free, self-hosting, open-source BASIC compiler. Check it at http://www.freebasic.net

* Recommended Settings

Processor: AMD or Intel x86, with SSE2, 1 GHz or faster

RAM: 256 MB or more

Graphics Card: 128 MB of Video RAM or more, fully compliant with OpenGL 2.0 or higher

A joystick / joypad is highly recommended for an optimal gaming experience.

The game may still work with a lower configuration system, but you may experience low performance at some points.

* Windows Specific Requirements

Windows XP or higher

Proprietary video drivers for the graphics card (AMD, Intel or Nvidia)

* Linux Specific Requirements

glibc 2.7 or higher

Proprietary video drivers for the graphics card (AMD or Nvidia)

Notes:
Intel graphics may work, but it's not officially supported.
Open source video drivers may work, but they are not fully supported.

* MacOSX Users

There is no MacOSX version right now.

The Windows version seems to work fine with wine ( http://www.winehq.com ).

But as I don't have a Mac to test, this configuration is not officially supported.

F.A.Q.:

Q: What programming language/libraries/software/tools did you use to develop YAGAC?

FreeBASIC compiler;
OpenGL for graphics;
SDL and SDL_mixer for sound;
FreeBASIC PNG Library - fbpng (Thank you yetifoot);
FreeBASIC FLC Player - based on the old QB FLC Player program (Thank you Carl Gorringe);
Audacity to create the sound effects;
Autodesk Animator Pro (DOS) and Gimp to draw the graphics;
Geany as code editor.

Q: Who made the music?

Achim Tober. Visit his page at http://www.softworxs.de

Q: Can I redistribute YAGAC?

Yes, as long as it's for free and you don't remove this readme or any other files from the package.

Q: Can I sell YAGAC?

No.

Q: Can I use your media in another project?

We can discuss it. Drop me a line.

Q: Can I make changes in YAGAC?

Yes. If you do it, please contact me.

Q: Can I make my own game using the YAGAC source code?

Yes. Please give me some credit.

Q: I get a black screen when I pause the game / in menus / title screen. I'm using Intel video.

This is a known issue, caused by poor video drivers. I'm currently trying to fix this.

Q: I really like this game. What can I do to help?

YAGAC is a free, open-source game. If you want to support it, you can make a donation.
Visit http://cmcgames.blogspot.com and donate any amount. It will be very much appreciated.
You can also buy a copy of my commercial indie game "Iceroyds!" at http://iceroyds.darkphear.com ;)
