WARGAMES V1.6 *
***************

THE MOVIE

A young computer whizz finds a back door into a military central computer in which reality is confused with game-playing, possibly starting World War III. He accidentally connects into a top secret super-computer which has complete control over the U.S. nuclear arsenal. It challenges him to a game between America and Russia, and he innocently starts the countdown to World War 3. Can he convince the computer he wanted to play a game and not the real thing ?

===============
INSTALLATION
---------------
Unzip to the directory you want keeping the directory structure - everything is contained here as this program installs NOTHING else. Also you may want to place a short cut to Wargames.exe on the desktop.

COMPATABILITY
---------------
Should work on any Win32 system as long as you can play sound and mpeg2. Tested on Win98SE, XP-XP64, Vista and 7 64bit.

VERSIONS
---------------
This version runs at 800*600*32 and not dependant on desktop settings. Also has internal video playing for smoother integration and does not require a registry setting saved as the 1.3 version did. Still uses the FMOD sound system (dll included).

THE GAME
---------------
Now the game is fairly simple and straight forward. It will probably take only 15 or 20 minutes to complete it. All it does is it let's you play the role of David Lightman (Matthew Broderick) and do exactly what he does on his computer, or near enough anyway. If you saw the movie and remembered most of it then you should know exactly what to do and what to type in but sometimes other responses can also work and if you type something in and all that happens is that your text disappears then you must enter the correct thing. Your input is restricted to certain characters only so not all will work noteably shift, and the first character of every word is capitallised automatically. Also in the program at times you may need to press a key to continue if you do not want to wait for what ever it's doing. If you are having problems, read below where all hints are given for you.

NOW HAVE SOME FUN!

===================
IF YOU NEED HELP!
===================

*FIRST SCREEN*
Phone Numbers: Area Codes are all '311' and prefixes are 399,437,767,936

*SECOND SCREEN*
Hit enter to skip or just let it go until it finishes.

*THIRD SCREEN*
Displays a list of numbers to dial - pretty self explanatory. For Panam use 'Paris' and then 'Chicago' for it to continue else it exits.
After you dial the right one, it will all start happening. Below is the dialogue with the WOPR responses in capital letters and yours in lower case, most times though complete answers are not required and question marks (?) at the end of your response can help.
