Especially since I heard it was made in 2 hours.
I want to make a bit more complicated one.
And here's a good question: the blocks I'm using, should they be very colorful (like a red, green, and blue, etc.. in 3 shades ) or should they represent a type of block, like a block that will explode, or a simple block, and unbreakable block etc... First I wanted to have dark colored block to be hit 3 times before they disappear, normal blocks twice, and light-colored blocks once. Grey would've been the unbreakable block.
And will 640 * 480 be enough? To create a good block I need about 35 * 20 pixels. well... perhaps.

PS: This is my second game, as soon as I finish it I'll convert Snake into FB.

Well, higher resolution won't produce you better graphics by itself. I fail to see the need to have a higher resoltion than 800*600 for a single screen (I assume) Breakout game. Even 640*480 should be quite comfortable.

Maybe you should show us what kind of gfx you will be using.

Once again I'm pointing you out to my Mighty Line to illustrate you what pure fbgfx can do. Just to break any delusions you might have about limitations of fbgfx.

I will be using 800 * 600 graphics, 24 bit, and full screen mode.
I'll post up version 0.2 after I convert everything to make it work in that screen (right now everything is set to 1024 * 768 graphics, 8 bit).
The game won't work (yet).

That means that the level-editor and the game itself doesn't work yet.
Sorry I wasn't able to do anything during the last week (school...).
I added the highscores, the credits,  and the options today.
For the highscores, use the UP/DOWN arrows to scroll up and down, and use PgUP/PgDn to scroll all the way up or down.
The music is turned off, go into options\audio settings to turn it back on.
On some computers the sound isn't very "clean", I have no idea why.

My next version will have an early release of the game itself, with no bonuses.
Feel free to change anything, but if you did a lot of changes to make the program better, e-mail it to me at varnaipeti@hotmail.com, and your name will be put into the credits.

Thanks for all your help,

Heh, these menus are awsome! Love all the stuff you did there, especially the random message box. Funny.

Only, in this resolution the fadein/fadeouts run really slow on my PC. If you could allow the user to change the step during fadein/fadeouts in some setup file, that would be great.

Anyway, this looks like it's going to be one fine product.

Thanks! I need ideas like that, especially since the more of them, the more things I can put in the options menu, and the more complicated the program seems;)
I'm already working on the level-editor.
I also updated the way the bricks are going to be layed out. So far, there were blocks of 24 colors. Now the program uses alpha blending and 8 main colored blocks so that more colors can be achieved. These color-blocks will disappear after a hit, and there will be 8 or more special blocks that do other things, like unbreakable ones, a question mark that throws out random bonuses, one that you need to hit 2 or 3 times to break etc...

I started remaking this using OOP. It doesn't feature any fancy menus or sounds like the last one, but it is playable, and that's the whole point.
So far I added the "classic" theme. I don't plan to add any more powerups or specialty blocks to this theme, as I'm saving it for the other themes and I'm afraid I'm going to run out of ideas. So if you have suggestions for bonuses/specialty blocks, feel free to tell them, but good luck, since I've probably already considered them all and am planning to add it into another theme:)
The classic theme is meant to be an opening theme to unlock the later, better ones, so the only way I tried to make it interesting is the classic powerups, and 4 game-modes. Some are pretty difficult, play all level packs available to see them. I've given you 10 lives to have you stand a chance:)

Any additional game mode ideas, comments, criticism, suggestions, compliments, random words, and any other form of feedback imaginable are highly appreciated. Very highly. Thanks.
