Interesting game. Nice design. Still, quite monotonous. Is this WIP or complete? I'm asking because I want to move this thread to the appropriate sub-forum.

Nice little game... is a little monotonous since you just move, space, move space, etc.  Made it to level 6 w/ 549 points before having to give it a rest.  Cheesy  Perhaps some variety or even description of what's going on would help... and some understanding that anything red is a monster. Wink

Will definitely play again to try and get further for ya.

Also... in VH2 perhaps arrow keys to control menu options?

for now that is it! you r an ASCII hunter!

and ya I'm going to add arrow keys for menu in two!
direction facing,
extra weapons, ex( arrows, grenades, maybe longer whip)
more monsters, plus Boss monsters! multi hit kills!

but for now! its who can get out first! and points!
100 points a level and 1 point a kill!

I tried to download this but it stated that the Download ticket had expired. I have no idea that this means as this crazy whacky internet stuff confounds me. Sorry if this is an issue on my end, but I don't think it is, at least I hope it isn't. *shrugs* I am stuck on slow slow dial up at the moment, my satellite was struck by lighting. I will try again when they finally get out here to replace it. Then I might be able to actually play some of these games!!

DaBooda out...

P.S. I like the ascii art though.

Try this: http://lachie.phatcode.net/Van_Hascii.zip Smiley

Bah, the game is quite easy. I reached the third map and gave up due the monotonous gameplay. But phyco is stick to considering this a finished game and is leaving all the advances for the sequel.

I'm an idiot, I was running from the red things trying to find an exit and didn't realize to use the whip...yeah its easy and rather monotonous. I hope the sequel has a little more variation. And I have one strange question, why not use the cursor keys to select from the menu? That felt really strange to me. I liked the fact that the whip only decreases when you miss a monster, that was an unique touch....maybe you can add some blue characters to represent more whips though. It needs more fluff I guess is what I am saying. Just my 2c's.
