There was a Shmup development competition at school ( http://sjsugamedev.com/ )... my team won! Smiley
I did the programming, and a certain Alex Kerr did the game design.
Most of this was done this past weekend.

arrow keys navigation
z fire
x launch bomb
shift focus missiles / slow ship movement

SFX Design: Kristopher Windsor

Made for the SJSU Game Developement Club, Spring 2009, and WON!
High Score: Alex Kerr, > 20,000
Developement time: ~4 days

Anyway, this was rather cool. Moderately challenging and fun. If only the gfx wasn't of "placeholder quality". I wish people weren't so lazy and apathic when it comes to drawing a decent looking "unindentified flying object". Everyone, I mean everyone, can do better than a simple box.

I like the game play, it is really smooth.

But a little bit of a story line and graphics would make it much, much better. Cool

Smooth gameplay, Out of place graphics (Tongue), enemies are not much of a challenge, the game could keep me playing till 5th level Tongue

But can you score 20K? You can't say the enemies are easy because they constantly get harder. Wink
And you can skin the game instead of complaining about the GFX. Tongue
