Here is a small update to version 1.04, it doesn't add major things but still addresses many issues. There are 30 changes in total:

 - Send gift buttons now disappear when another civilizations alignment towards you is 100%
 - Turrets can now be destroyed by selecting them and pressing DEL
 - Added moons
 - Added explosion animation to enemy ships when casting Phase Lane Disruption
 - Other players are not displayed anymore in the diplomacy window when defeated
 - Added keyboard shortcut T to build turrets and S to build satellite

 - Decreased volume of explosion sound to 50% to make it less annoying
 - Fixed button behaviour so no button is clicked unintentionally when navigation through the menus
 - Decreased zooming steps from 30 to 20
 - Added 'research finished' voice when finishing a research
 - Changed text output so text will look much sharper and better now
 - Added more info about researches in research window
 - Researches will now cost credits
 - Added autosend-howto in readme.txt
 - Colored turret and satellite status in planet info box

Lachie:
It's not necessary to update the FBGD with this version, but it would be great if you could link to this thread in the game's description.
I plan on continually updating and expanding the game on all fronts so I think it would be best if you update FBGD with a new version only
when you feel it's worth it on your own judgment. Maybe 1.10 or so when it's done Smiley

No problem. But I thought you were working on GalEmp II and were done with this.

Update to 1.05, once again 30 changes! I've extended the core gameplay quite a bit with fleets that can be stacked on planets, a new resource, a new building (mine) and additional researches. There are also some small but useful updates to the UI which sheds some light on how much fleets, mines, satellites etc. cost. Well, I hope you like it Smiley

- Added build fleet icon to UI
- Added number of fleets below planet population text
- Each stacked fleet costs credits now
- Colored credit change rate in credits info box and planet list
- Decreased planet population growth rate by 50%
- Changed alignment decrease from 5% to 10% when attacking another civilizations planet
- Replaced fleet size toggle with fixed fleet health and fleet damage
- Defense satellites now destroy a whole fleet and can hold of as much fleets as their level
- Doubled planet income rate
- Made UI boxes 50% less transparent for better text readability and less background distraction
- Added planet plague event
- Added metal as resource needed for building ships
- Added metal mines which can be build on asteroids

Hey,

1.06 is underway with 12 changes so far. I've been trying to fix the gamesave loading and finding a major bug that crashes the game after some minutes, but no success so far Roll Eyes
In other news I have been porting a good part of the gamecode to C++ which is not as difficult as I thought. There are a few hurdles, but it's coming along.
I've also bought a book about game programming and I'm really concentrating on the OOP stuff at the moment, can't hurt to organize code in a proper way, does it? Grin

Here's the preliminary changelog of 1.06

- Several code cleanups, bug fixes and optimizations
- Added game score to the statistics
- Improved string rendering implementation which results in much higher framerates
- Added keyboard shortcut "m" for building mines
- Fixed blurred rendering of text (crystal clear now like it should have been from the beginning!)
- Fixed AI mines being built in the center of the starsystem
- Fixed satellites not working as intended
- Set 1024x768 as minimum resolution to fix UI layout problems
- AIs now change their alignment towards other players
- Added some sound effects to the UI
- Fleets can now only fly to nearby systems (indicated through white connection lines between stars)
- AIs now research the 2 new researches as well.. oops

After a longer break I've continued working on the game and 1.07 is in the works with about 20 fixes, changes and additions so far.

It's now fully ported to C++ and I will continue to develop there, so it might not be that interesting for you guys anymore.
The reason why I switched is mostly because I can use the latest SFML version, for which there is unfortunately no continuing support in FB.
I'll post new versions of the game in the SFML forums from now on, so you know Smiley

cheers

Sorry to hear about that. I really don't think SFML is worth the switch, but it's your choice. BTW, what's the latest fully FB version?
