Only one person has sent me a levelpack. I'll be including it on my website for download soon. It ain't easy!

I don't think its possible on some setups.

Windows XP and gfxlib2 have always had the jitters for me. OpenGL seems to work well though, maybe its to do with hardware acceleration?

Hi All!

Boondog v1.3 is now available!

Hey all. I have a small playable "sandbox" for some basic player movement here.

It would be great to get some feedback at this point!

Booncat Sandbox

Arrow keys to move.

Hold UP, and press FORWARDS to do a jump from standing.

Press UP while running to do a running jump.

Hold UP while in a jump, against a wall, to "TAC" off the wall.

During any jump, holding UP will increase the height, and holding FORWARD will increase the distance.

When landing, Hold DOWN to go into a crouch (this prevents 'some' fall damage).

When landing, Hold DOWN and FORWARD to do a Roll (also prevents fall damage).

While Running, press DOWN to Roll.

Use the Mouse LMB and RMB to Add/Remove level blocks.

Keep in mind, Booncat is Superhuman ;)

Have a play about and share your thoughts!

A taste of things to come!

Gratz to the winners! And well done to everyone who participated :D

Sounds good, but, would it not be nice to have the judging done by a majority vote?

Excellent :D

I just noticed that two big sites have featured Boondog on their font pages! A google search for:-

Shows that Inde-Games and anotehr blog have posted about it :D

Cool. But, isn't that for games created with the ClickTeam products?

Thanks for the feedback folks :) I really must finish Alzir sometime, I've been distracted with Boondog lately! I've actually created a substantial portion of this game in "Second Life" too. Seems I have trouble finishing games. lol

About the AI, yes, its not even A* yet. I just threw in a basic AI while testing. A game like this is incredibly hard to balance. I had no idea until I started making it.

The source code is available if anyone wants to pick up where I left off. Just drop me an email. (mambazo[blat]gmail[blot]com)

@Dabooda: Thanks! I agree about the "creating levelpack tutorials" too, it would help Boondog grow faster. I'd love to add support for tracked music, but I refuse to use fmod ;) I prefer using libs made in freebasic alone, just because :)

Not bad at all!

I look forward to seeing Levelpacks made by the players themselves.

If there is enough interest, I will eventually set up a website where Levelpacks can be submitted to be shared with everyone.

A little like prince of persia, a little like sokoban, a little like a lot of things really.

Boondog is a versitile, customizable, expandable puzzle game (and engine, I suppose!) with a built in Levelpack editor, overridable sprites and scripted levels.

The base game comes with a tutorial and  levelpack with 10 challenging levels.
