Here is a preview of the game I made for the new "Numbers" themed competition. This is for all those slot machine addicts out there! I'm still making adjustments and your feedback is welcome. Also, the source code will be posted when the final version is released.

Nice work on the presentation and the mechanics. I recommend adding a mouse controlled cursor interface as well. It makes me feel more like I'm using a slot machine, if I can click on the buttons.

What I'm failing to see is how elaborate the theme is used here. I recommend you consider an option for the player to spin in few steps, locking certain bars and letting other spin, to get some arithmetic combinations you devise.

I agree on mouse, I thought we had to click the buttons the first time

I'm also wondering how this relates to numbers apart from them being present in slots.

Hmmm....Perhaps I am misunderstanding the competition. The first part of the competition description states....

Quote
The objective in this competition is to create a game that references to numbers in any way through its gameplay and/or story/graphical design.

Certainly my game meets this requirement in graphical design, and obviously any casino game relates to numbers (probability, statistics, etc..). And the prizes for combos relating to pi and e are representative of their respective values (ie. 3141 for pi, and 2718 for e). Could you please let me know where my game is not consistent with the rules?
Cheers!

Damn! Gonna try this now. I love slot machines. I don't like blowing money, but I like the free ones. For some reason that random thing is fun to me. If this was real, I would have just won a million dollars! :p

EDIT:
It's pretty god so far. The sounds are spot on. I noticed you have a PI symbol on there. What if you had a bonus round, where the user had to stop the reels right on the actual digits of PI or something? 3-1-4-1... PRIZE! :p

I don't see what's wrong with this game, I like it and I believe it respects the theme of this competition.

I posted an updated link to my compo entry that also now includes the source code. I added mouse support as well as tweaked the engine a little. I will try to add some additional modes to the game before the deadline but my work schedule is starting to get busy. If not then this will be my entry.

Enjoy!

Added a new feature!!!

When you land on the "Stop The Rest" symbol, you can control when the rest of the slot wheels stop by clicking the SPIN button to control them.

Download link in original post.
